He graduated in saxophone at the Conservatory of Music "Luisa D’Annunzio" with Maestro Gaetano Di Bacco. He attended high specialization courses and Master classes with international masters Claude Delangle, Eugéne Rousseau, Jean Yves Fourmeau, Arno Bornkamp, Francisco Martinez, Fabrizio Paoletti, Enzo Filippetti e Giuseppe Berardini.
He has performed concerts in different formations: the duo with the piano, only with organ, chambre ensembles as a soloist, in saxophone ensemble. He has collaborated with various symphony orchestras including "Teatro Marrucino Symphony Orchestra" in Chieti (Italy), "European Symphony Orchestra Ars Musica", "Gabriele D’Annunzio Symphony Orchestra", "Solisti Aquilani Orchestra", with the "Soloists of Teatro Marrucino" and "B.Barattelli Society Concert".
He collaborated with Maestro Antonello Neri  in the first absolute execution of "Notturni per L’Aquila", important concert for first earthquake L’Aquila city anniversary.
He is solist saxophonist of “Ortona Wind Orchestra” from Italy.     
He collaborates with directors orchestra Donato Renzetti, Claudio Desderi and Pasquale Veleno.
He has collaborated with brasilian artist Emanuel Dimas de Melo Pimenta, considered one of the leading contemporary artists by John Cage e Ornette Coleman.
He plays in the Orchestra of italian theater company "Il Canovaccio".     Winner in 2007 of the prestigious competition AMA CALABRIA, in Italy; he was guest at the final evening of clarinet Master class made by Maestro Fabrizio Meloni, the first clarinet of  "Teatro alla Scala" in Milan.
He participated in three editions of  INTERNATIONAL MEETING OF SAX in Nova Gorica, Slovenia, organized by master saxophonist of " Quartetto di sassofoni Accademia”.
He attended master classes with professors of saxophone of  Superior Conservatory of Oviedo (Spain) and of Mannheim at Musikhochschule Kammermusiksaal (Germany).
Winner of Kavatik Ensemble prime "Carla Fallagrassa", competiton dedicated to contemporary music, for the best interpretation of an anunpublishe composition dedicated to him.
He is a founder and soprano saxophonist about his quartet called "Saxsophia", which playes in italian theaters and many events for classical music.
Actually he is teacher of saxophone at  the “Accademia delle Arti danza- musica –teatro” in Pescara (Italy).
Of great importance is current collaboration with the bestes italian classical and contemporary composers : Ennio Morricone,Sergio Rendine, Marco Tutino, Marco Betta, Carlo Crivelli e Lorenzo Ferrero, for one special  work record produced by Teatro Fedele Fenaroli and Associazione Estate Musicale Frentana. This music project contains only premieres compositions for saxophone, many of which dedicated to him.         
In February, 2011 he gave a concert at the “Philippos Nakas concert hall”, in the "Nakas Conservatory" in Athens, this event uit was organized in collaborationthe with Italian Institute of Culture in Athens for 2010-2011 concert season of the conservatory. In the same place He held a saxophone Master class for a lot of Greek students.
Currently, Mimmo Malandra follows the course of academic specialization Level II at the Conservatory of Music "Luisa D’Annunzio" followed by Maestro Gaetano Di Bacco.
