Federico Palacios

“Gonzalez Reeds have been with me since the beginning of my career. The constant quality and consistency of the product allows me to develop my musicality, without limits or risks. Open a box, chose a random reed and immediately play with it at a concert has become an invaluable habit”.

Student of prestigious clarinet masters such as Francisco Martino, Denis Tempo, Armand Angster, Richard Stoltzman and Stanley Drucker, Federico Palacios graduated from Strasbourg Superior Music Academy (Master Degree), from Athens International Conservatory (Bachelor Degree) and from Uruguay Vicente Ascone Conservatory.

He was part of the Philharmonic Orchestra from Montevideo, the National Radio Orchestra of Uruguay, the Philharmonic Orchestra from Athens and the Philharmonic Orchestra from Northern Vosges.

He is the soloist clarinetist and founder of Mo Ensemble (France), and was a part and founder of Balanço do Morro Quartet (France), Corda di Vento Trio (Greece), Notiás Quintet (France), José Artigas Youth Orchestra (Uruguay) and Inter Arte (Uruguay). His experience as a soloist lead him to share stage with orchestras from France, Luxembourg, Uruguay, Germany and Greece. He has performed the world premiere of pieces for solo clarinet, clarinet/piano, several chamber music ensembles and plays for solo clarinet and orchestra.

From all the experiences that made an impact in his musical career, it can be distinguished: 2015, guest soloist for the award ceremony for European cities at the Council of Europe (Strasbourg); 2016, the most important classical music internet network, Hello Stage, chose his recording of the play “Catedral de Cristal”, from the composer Leanna Primiani, recorded in 2010 as “Record of the Week”; 2018, excellent clarinetist, soloist of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, Stanley Drucker, rated Federico’s first album “Yvi Piahu” as “Great Recording”; he was awarded with the Prize of Strasbourg Philharmonic Orchestra and twice with the Juvenalis Award (Uruguay). Recently, in 2019, he was honored with the Fausto Award (Uruguay). It is worth mentioning that 13 composers have dedicated different plays, from which can be distinguished: three concerts for clarinet and orchestra, and ten plays for chamber music.

In 2019, Federico was invited by the French Ministry of Education to join the examining jury for the National Competition for stable positions of clarinet teachers.
