Matías Tchicourel

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he studied music and clarinet at the “Carlos López Buchardo” National Conservatory of Music with the masters Mariano Frogioni and Daniel Kerlleñevich, among others.

He was awarded in the Unesco-Chernobyl contest and was given the Altos Estudios scholarship from the Antorchas Fundation.

As part of his professional training he was part of the Juvenil Argentina Orchestra, Juvenil Libertador San Martín Orchestra and the Academic Orchestra of the Colon Theater, where he also performed as a soloist.

In 1997 he was the winner of the International Contest for Bass Clarinet, organized to cover that position in the Symphonic Orchestra of the State of San Pablo (Brazil)

In 1999 he was chosen to represent Argentina in the World Orchestra of Jeunesses Musicales where he toured in different European cities and participated at the Grand Gala Concert organized in Berlin to mark the end of the millennium.

From 1999 he has been part of the Buenos Aires Philharmonic Orchestra as the Adjunct Clarinet Soloist.

He is part of the Encuentros de Música Contemporanea Group and the East Trio.
