Koji Miura

Koji Miura was born in Aichi, Japan. He studied clarinet at Musashino Academia Musicae in Tokyo under the professor Kálmán Berkes. After graduation, he studied in Freiburg, Germany under the supervision of professor Jörg Widmann. After returning to Japan, he settled as an international musician.

As a soloist, he has performed with many bands, including the Republic of China Air Force Band (Taiwan), Hong Kong Band Directors Wind Orchestra (Hong Kong), Nontri Orchestra Winds (Thailand). He was invited as a soloist and lecturer at many worldwide music festivals, including Alexander Arutiunian International Wind Festival (Armenia), ICA ClarinetFest (Belgium), ECA Clarinet Festival (Hungary), Epidaurus Festival (Croatia), Autunno Musicale (Italy) and Taiwan Clinic (Taiwan). He performed with string quartet members of the Armenian National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet. Also, he is an enthusiastic about music education. He has been at many lectures to educational institution all over the world, including Hofstra University (USA) and SHOBI College of Music (Japan).

In 2019 he became the Director of the Japan Clarinet Association.

Since 2017 he is a Gonzalez Reeds Artist, RZ Woodwind Manufacturing and Silverstein Works.
